Sorry it's been a couple weeks since I've emailed. But it's been a couple of crazy weeks indeed.
I wont bore you too much, but two weeks ago was the last week of my companions mission. So there wasn't a whole lot of proselyting, but a whole lot of goodbyes and celebrations. One day a family taught us how to make Pacha Manka (food cooked by burying it underground), so I will be able to make it when i get home! It's just a lot of work and takes the whole morning to have it ready by lunch time. Then another day we got permission to travel to one of his old areas to say goodbye, and then his last night we had a big bonfire as a ward activity. It was really cool and the biggest participated activity we've had here! Also I taught everyone how to make s'mores and it was funny how something how something so simple in one culture can be something completely amazing to to another culture. But they loved them!
Then Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I stayed with the zone leaders as my companion had left. My new companion arrived Tuesday night and he is from Kansas and has about 5 months in the mission. This transfer will be a new experience for me as I will be helping my companion learn Spanish. But I'm really excited for this upcoming transfer because I know the area like the back of my hand, and have become good friends with all of the members here. Anyway this past week was pretty normal, but we have been really busy and the ward has given us some really promising references. So we will see if we can keep up the work!
