Hola, yo hablo Espanglish

Wow! How is everyone doing? This week has been the longest week of my life. There have been many highlights, but also some struggle as well. People call the MTC/CCM prison, but I think of it more as house arrest in the seminary building.

Peru right now, is not what I expected. I was expecting sun and beautiful weather. However, every day has been foggy/cloudy. I saw a little sun once and I am starting to think the sky is grey. The weather is probably around 60ish degrees the entire day, but you feel chilly in the mornings. Haha It has been a nice break from Utah where it's so hot and you can't see a cloud in sight.

The food here is actually really good and I've met a couple people who are pickier than me, haha, so there is hope! Every non breakfast meal is either rice or noodles or fries with a form of chicken. One meal that I especially loved and am telling you about it because it is the most American meal ever. I think it is called salchi papa but I'm not sure. Basically it is a plate loaded with fries. Then on top of the fries you put pieces of sausage, hot dog, and a big fried egg. Smother that in ketchup and you are good to go.

Spanish is coming along fairly well. I can pray and bear my testimony pretty good in Spanish. It does get annoying sometimes though. Sometimes I wish I was English speaking because I would spend more time studying and learning missionary stuff, and less time having Spanish thrown at me. Two of my roommates are from Bolivia. They are super cool but don't speak any English. My other roommates are also cool but it has been a struggle with my companion. I hope these six weeks go by fast but it doesn't look like it will. Don't feel bad for me though, I am doing well!

You can stop reading here if you want, but I would like to end this email with a scripture that has been on my mind a lot this week. Ether 12:27 says, "And if men come unto me I will show unto them weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." This scripture has never been more true than at the CCM. You are here in a completely new place, surrounded by new faces, trying to learn a new language. It is not until you say okay God, I cannot do it on my own. Only with your help can I be successful and strong. This moment is when you will start to see growth.

Sorry for the long email. The next ones won't be anywhere near as long and sorry but I probably won't have any dope or cool or funny experiences until I am out of the CCM. I love you all!!!
